Cloud Computing can be differentiated in many different ways, but there are three main categories of cloud computing services
Infrastructure as a Service is a computing infrastructure that provides high level APIs, managed over a network. IaaS helps you to cut down the expense and complexity involved in buying and managing your own different server. In an IaaS model, a cloud provider has the foundational parts present in an on-premises network, servers, storage and systems administration equipment, and also the virtualization or hypervisor layer. IaaS model provides access to computing resource in a virtualized environment, where clients are given access to build their own IT platforms.
It is cost saving as you pay only for the computing resources that you have used.
Software as a Service is a software distribution model of delivering software applications over a network as per the demand and subscription basis, where third-party provider hosts applications and make them available to the customers over a network. SaaS helps you as an organization to manage the software application on your own computers or server.
Cloud Platform services, or Platform as a Service is a cloud based platform service for applications and development. This is mainly a framework that allows developer to build customized applications. This service doesn’t require internet network to function, but it is providing an online platform where the developers can create software over the internet. PaaS services allows numerous access to the same development applications.
The latest versions of the software needed are made available to all the clients as soon as they’re released.
